Weatherby Mark V - Backcountry Ti - 6.5 Creedmoor :
Weatherby set out to produce the best backcountry rifle and cartridge combination ever, it was a project they did not take lightly. Weatherby at its core, we prides itself on ballistic superiority. So, the goal was not to simply achieve the production of a 5-pound rifle. Instead, their team was able to break the 5-pound mark while delivering magnum performance in a firearm that does not demand custom rifle pricing. Additionally, the combination of the stock design, brand new muzzle break, and proprietary patent-pending 3DHEX recoil reducer make it enjoyable to shoot. After years of innovation and development, the Mark V Backcountry Ti and 6.5 WBY RPM combination achieves the weight savings, ballistic performance, and price that cannot be found in a production rifle anywhere else. Guaranteed Sub-MoA AccuracyAll Mark V rifles are guaranteed to shoot a 3-shot group of .99 inch or less at 100 yards (SUB-MOA) from a cold barrel when used with Weatherby factory or premium ammunition. Triggertech TriggerTriggerTechs trigger provides true zero-creep break, extremely short over-travel, and is externally adjustable. Precision cut stainless steel components ensure consistent trigger pulls from shot to shot in a safe, reliable, and corrosion resistant package. Accubrake STBy adding an Accubreak you will significantly reduce felt recoil up to 53 percent 54 Degree BoltThe shortest in the industry (as compared to typical 90 bolt throw). Allows for faster chambering on follow-up shots and greater bolt-to-scope clearance. Carbon Fiber StockAG Composites proprietary manufacturing process provides excellent stiffness and lightweight attributes from carefully selected materials. The stocks are also impervious to environmental factors and will offer predictable, reliable performance. 3D Hex Recoil ReducerLarge caliber felt recoil dissipation provided in the lightest recoil reducer available. 3DHEX is a patent pending high strength energy diffusing lattice structure designed to distribute specific directional forces and reduce muzzle lift.Titanium ReceiverTitanium properties present 42 percent the weight of traditional steel which provides maximum weight savings for the hunter looking to save every ounce while maintaining structural integrity.Cerakote FinishCerakote is the industry leading thin film ceramic coating. The Cerakote unique formula enhances physical properties including wear, corrosion, and chemical resistance while improving impact strengths, and hardness.

6.5 Creedmoor
The 6.5mm Creedmoor is a centerfire rifle cartridge introduced by Hornady in 2007 as a modification of the .30 TC, which was based on the 300 Savage. It was designed specifically for rifle target shooting , although it is also achieving success in hunting. Bullet for bullet it achieves a slower muzzle velocity than longer cartridges such as the 6.5-284 Norma or magnums such as the 6.5mm Remington Magnum. However, due to its 2.825 inch overall length, the 6.5mm Creedmoor is capable of being chambered in short-action bolt rifles and AR-10 rifles

Performance
This is a medium power cartridge is often comparable to the .260 Remington and 6.5x47mm Lapua but is not as accurate as the Lapua case. Three hundred yard energy using 129 grain Hornady SST bullets is listed by an independent reviewer as 1641 ft. lbs. For the 140 grain bullet at 2700 feet per second initial velocity another reviewer reports an MPBR for a six inch high target of 265 yards and reports a manufacturer claim of almost 1600 ft. lbs. of retained energy at 300 yards using a 24 inch barrel. SAAMI test data confirms 6.5 mm Creedmoor (fifteen foot from muzzle) velocity of 2,940 fps for the 129 grain bullet and 2,690 for the 140 grain bullet (which compares to .300 Winchester magnum data of 2,930 fps for a 200 grain bullet and 2,665 fps for a 210 grain bullet).
