Implementing the new 6.5 WBY RPM, the Backcountry weighs in at a mere 5.3 pounds built on a 6-Lug receiver. Carry the Mark V Backcountry on your next adventure, and guarantee confidence in performance and dependability..

Guaranteed Sub-MoA Accuracy
All Mark V rifles are guaranteed to shoot a 3-shot group of .99 inch or less at 100 yards (SUB-MOA) from a cold barrel when used with Weatherby factory or premium ammunition.

Triggertech Trigger
TriggerTechs trigger provides true zero-creep break, extremely short over-travel, and is externally adjustable. Precision cut stainless steel components ensure consistent trigger pulls from shot to shot in a safe, reliable, and corrosion resistant package.

Accubrake ST
By adding an Accubreak you will significantly reduce felt recoil up to 53 percent

54 Degree Bolt
The shortest in the industry (as compared to typical 90 bolt throw). Allows for faster chambering on follow-up shots and greater bolt-to-scope clearance.

Carbon Fiber Stock
AG Composites proprietary manufacturing process provides excellent stiffness and lightweight attributes from carefully selected materials. The stocks are also impervious to environmental factors and will offer predictable, reliable performance.

3D Hex Recoil Reducer
Large caliber felt recoil dissipation provided in the lightest recoil reducer available. 3DHEX is a patent pending high strength energy diffusing lattice structure designed to distribute specific directional forces and reduce muzzle lift.

Cerakote Finish
Cerakote is the industry leading thin film ceramic coating. The Cerakote unique formula enhances physical properties including wear, corrosion, and chemical resistance while improving impact strengths, and hardness.

Technical System:

  • Fluted Barrel / Brake / Receiver / Trigger Guard - McMillan Tan Cerakote
  • Bolt / Bolt Knob / Safety - Graphite Black Cerakote
  • Visible Carbon fiber stock with tan and green sponge pattern.
  • Carbon fiber AG Composites stock.

257 Weatherby Magnum

The .257 Weatherby Magnum is a .257 caliber (6.35 mm) belted bottlenecked cartridge. It is one of the original standard length magnums developed by shortening the .375 H&H Magnum case to approx. 2.5 in (64 mm). Of the cartridges developed by Roy Weatherby, the .257 Weatherby Magnum was known to have been his favorite, and the cartridge currently ranks third in Weatherby cartridge sales, after the .30-378 Weatherby Magnum and the .300 Weatherby Magnum.

Suggested Use

  • Deer
  • Black Bear
  • Sheep / Goat
  • Moose
  • Elk
Performance
The .257 Weatherby is known for its long range performance and is considered an accurate flat shooting cartridge. Initially due to the cartridges high velocity the cartridge exhibits less bullet drop than most other cartridges. However, due to lower ballistic coefficients of these bullets, velocity (and therefore energy) is shed more quickly.

Weatherbys B25780TTSX, B257100TSX and the N257115BST ammunition have point blank ranges of 369 yd (337 m), 350 yd (320 m) and 323 yd (295 m) respectively. Thus no hold over is necessary when shooting at game at these ranges given that the rifles is zeroed correctly to accomplish this task.

The .257 Weatherby offers a 300-400 ft/s (91-122 m/s) over the 25-06 Remington cartridge which translates to around 600 ft lbf (810 J) greater energy than the latter cartridge.
