Description

Benelli LUPO BE.S.T - 6.5 Creedmoor - 24.0" - Optifade Open Country Rifle:

Benelli's LUPO bolt-action rifle has been field-tested on hunts across the globe and found to be a truly exceptional firearm. Not only has it delivered sub-MOA accuracy and decisive on-game performance, but hunters also rave about ergonomic and customization features that make it fit like it was made just for them. From the threaded muzzle to the recoil mitigating Combtech cheek pad, the LUPO is packed with Benelli features and technology shooters praise and declare unrivaled among hunting rifles. The LUPO is now available with Benelli's exclusive industry-leading BE.S.T. surface treatment and is available in three popular big-game calibers.

Precision Accuracy
The LUPO features a precision Crio-treated free-floating barrel attached to a hardened-steel barrel extension that is bedded to a steel block in the alloy receiver. The result is precision sub-MOA accuracy. . . shot-after-shot.

Recoil Reduction
The Benelli LUPO tames recoil with a patented built-in Progressive Comfort system and a Combtech cheek pad. The trigger is crisp and with an adjustable trigger-pull weight. Further fit adjustments can be made by using the included length-of-pull spacers. Optional fit choices include extra-high and standard cheek pad styles and one optional-length butt pad. Finger reach to the trigger is also adjustable with included spacers which can be placed between the receiver and the stock.

Ergonomics & Adjustability
The shape of the Benelli LUPO has been optimized for control. The chassis-style configuration of a separate stock, receiver and forend allow the shooter to customize the LUPO to one of 36 drop and cast stock positions with the included shims. Finger reach to the trigger is also adjustable with included spacers which can be placed between the receiver and the stock. The ambidextrous top safety is easy to access. Airtouch Grip surfaces allow for a safe and firm hold on the rifle.

Detachable Box-Type Magazine
The detachable box magazine is a double-stack configuration with a partial divider that loads like a single stack. Cartridges can be easily loaded with the magazine removed, or smoothly top loaded with the magazine in place, holding 5 rounds without heavy spring pressure. The LUPO cutaway bolt works with the magazine, allowing the magazine to insert fully into the receiver without protruding from the bottom of the gun.

6.5 Creedmoor:

The 6.5mm Creedmoor is a centerfire rifle cartridge introduced by Hornady in 2007 as a modification of the .30 TC, which was based on the 300 Savage. It was designed specifically for rifle target shooting , although it is also achieving success in hunting. Bullet for bullet it achieves a slower muzzle velocity than longer cartridges such as the 6.5-284 Norma or magnums such as the 6.5mm Remington Magnum. However, due to its 2.825 inch overall length, the 6.5mm Creedmoor is capable of being chambered in short-action bolt rifles and AR-10 rifles

Suggested Use:
  • Predators
  • Small Game
  • Varmint
  • Deer

Performance:

This is a medium power cartridge is often comparable to the .260 Remington and 6.5x47mm Lapua but is not as accurate as the Lapua case. Three hundred yard energy using 129 grain Hornady SST bullets is listed by an independent reviewer as 1641 ft. lbs. For the 140 grain bullet at 2700 feet per second initial velocity another reviewer reports an MPBR for a six inch high target of 265 yards and reports a manufacturer claim of "almost 1600 ft. lbs." of retained energy at 300 yards using a 24 inch barrel. SAAMI test data confirms 6.5 mm Creedmoor (fifteen foot from muzzle) velocity of 2,940 fps for the 129 grain bullet and 2,690 for the 140 grain bullet (which compares to .300 Winchester magnum data of 2,930 fps for a 200 grain bullet and 2,665 fps for a 210 grain bullet).
