Anschutz 1517 D Classic Single Stage Trigger - 17 HMR - 009955 :

The weight of the receiver was increased by 12 percent to add rigidity. The locking surface was enlarged by 15 percent which leads to even more safety for the shooter when firing a shot. The new shape of the receiver is continued in the firing pin nut which makes the system more elegant. Classic straight hunting stock of colored and lacquered walnut wood without cheek piece, checkering at pistol grip and fore-end, black butt plate and studs for sling swivel.

17 HMR

.17 Hornady Magnum Rimfire (4.5x27mmR), commonly known as the .17 HMR, is a rimfire rifle cartridge developed by the ammunition company Hornady in 2002. It descended from the .22 Magnum by necking down the .22 Magnum case to take a .17 caliber (4.5 mm) projectile. Commonly loaded with a 17 grain (1.1 g) projectile, it can deliver muzzle velocities in excess of 775 m/s (2550 ft/s).

Suggested Use

  • Predators
  • Small Game
  • Varmint

Advantages

Faster flight: 2350-2550fps compared to the Hornady 2200fps 22Wmr 30gr rounds

Flatter trajectory

Longer range. Bullets expand better especially at longer ranges e.g. 150 yards

As the round is faster there is less chance of ricochet due to bullet 'break up' at shorter ranges
